Stone paths fill the space between large raised beds contained in wide concrete walls which double as seating. Plantings include large, mature trees, shrubs and perennials, creating a green oasis in an unexpected place. With 300 trees, 1.5 km of pathways, grass, flowers, and seldom-seen views of downtown Ottawa, the 1969 National Arts Centre and 1983 Rideau Centre has Ottawa's first large-scale "green roofs". Discover a new perspective of these complex buildings and the heritage buildings and sites that surround them.
